Welcome to MonCri! This is a site dedicated to Alexander Dumas' classic literature The Count of Monte Cristo. A story of trust, betrayal and revenge, it is regarded as one of Dumas' best work and rightly so. With its engaging plot and dynamic characters, this is one story that surely anybody with the ability to read should enjoy.
The main purpose of this site is to put together a comprehensive analysis of the characters in Monte Cristo throughout the various incarnations of the novel. While there have been several adaptations of the novel in different formats, none have actually remained 100% accurate to the original story. For that reason, MonCri will provide a comparative chart for each character under the "Character Digest" page. There you will find summaries of each character's story, the main roles they had, as well as point out the major differences between the novel, movies, and animated series. You'll also find information on each version of the story under their respective links to your right.
If you've never read or seen The Count of Monte Cristo, please be aware that because of the nature of this site spoilers will be common. This site is best priviledged by those who have some knowledge of the story in any incarnation and are interested in knowing more about it, especially how the characters differ in each of the different incarnations.
